Finally was able to put Liberty in a frame after varnishing. I’m not sure if she’ll last 500 years because I used a recycled canvas. Her purpose is short though in terms of a message.
In late May or June there is an exhibit that correlates with the Great American Think Off in NYMills. The theme for the essay question is “Is there only one Truth, or are there many truths?” The theme for the art show and the theme for the Think-Off are usually align with each other quite nicely.
I’m also finishing a canvas using my favorite muse, the white pine I use for the Spirit Tree. This one is the Doppleganger of the largest painting of the tree which is 42″ wide by 62″ tall. While the majority of the painting is done, it needs a few sessions that will bring it to the place where it sings a little louder.

Finally, a few images from the live videos I’ve been doing that are part of the grant project (Art and Aphantasia) and working out the particulars as I go. I need to write proposals for exhibition but need to have about 6-10 works ready to go for the proposals.
Last year, I applied for a MN State Arts Board grant related to being an artist with Aphantasia (the inability to create mental images). As many of you know, I was awarded a Minnesota State Arts Board Creative Individuals grant and a earlier this month, I found out that we have the go ahead to start my project.
My goals for the project are related to Aphantasia and art and I will be focusing on three components to fulfill the grant.
• Create a new body of work that will be exhibited to bring awareness of aphantasia.
• Create an online community with going on line while I am creating the works.
• Involve the online and exhibition venue(s) community to create a dialogue of awareness, welcome their contributions of their experiences, and give them a sense of what it’s like to have aphantasia.
The online and live videos can be viewed a youtube channel that should be able to be found searching my name or go to the link below. If you want to be notified when I go live, I think you hit the subscribe button.
And if you just want to see how I create and don’t care about the goals of the grant, that’s fine too. ![]()
