Block Print Progress Update: Betty’s Spaghetti and More

Betty’s Spaghetti is a labor of love hand-bound, hand sewn, hand printed collection of family favorite recipes.

I think I’m about at the halfway point.
So far:
Research of materials, processes, and ordering of materials.
All covers cut, design etched into cloth and glued to covers.
11 of 12 linoleum prints carved (although I am reconsidering recutting a couple).
All print papers torn down (some ungodly number like 400)
Title page printed.
Both image and text printed for Betty’s Spaghetti, Caesar Salad, Veg-a-Bull Beef Soup and the Coconut Cream Pie,

Here I am “proofing” the block print for “Goulash.” The other proofs are for Maiden Rock Tomato Soup and Popovers. I have a small area to remove on the Goulash Block and I’m still not happy with the Popovers. I may redesign. I’m on the fence with tomato soup one. So that may push me back a little on time, but luckily the new blocks are soft and easy to cut.

And what do I have left?

A boatload.
Design and cut block for No Madrigal Dinner for You Soup.
Recut part of the Popovers.
Print text and images for Chocolate Butter Fudge, Lemon Tarts, Goulash, Popovers, Maiden Rock Tomato Soup, Coconut Cream Pie.
Cut the paper that will support the pages.
Bind the covers.
Sew in the pages.
Make corners for pages and add metal corners to the covers.
Sign the books.

And maybe add a chop.
